ESG at ILA Berlin 2022

Secure and intelligent networking - across domains and platforms for multi-domain operations and holistic services around development, integration, in-service support and operation of manned and unmanned systems

Secure and intelligent networking - cross-domain and cross-platform, joint & combined is the key to rapid capability growth - both at tactical and strategic level!
At ILA Berlin from 22 to 26 June, ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH will be demonstrating how established, proven and future systems and platforms, especially those directly related to the air domain, can be networked in a completely new way so that their operational capability and operational value is significantly increased. This type of networking already offers a unique opportunity to combine the variety of available sensors and effectors in an intelligent network and to increase the level of protection and effectiveness for our Bundeswehr and our allies. This will ensure information superiority and end-to-end command capability in all dimensions of the battlefield. ESG's holistic presentation is rounded off by innovative services for the development, integration, in-service support and operation of manned and unmanned systems.

Visit ESG at ILA Berlin: Hall 4, Stand 321 and in the Military Support Center in Hall 3.

Key Topics in Hall 4:

  • Electronic combat with Eurofighter: TEASE² Pod
With the autonomous TEASE² Pod (Tactical Electronic Attack System ESG/Elisra), ESG offers the German Air Force an immediately available, powerful, proven system for electronic warfare. The basis for the national TEASE² system is the mission-proven technology of Elisra, which ESG selected after extensive market research.
  • STH – Heavy-Lift Helicopter for the Bundeswehr
ESG is a proud partner in Boeing's Chinook Deutschland Team alongside Aero Bildung, Airbus, CAE, Honeywell, Lufthansa Technik and Rolls Royce and look forward to working together on this land-mark programme that will shape the coming decades of military airlift in Germany.
  • P-8A Poseidon
The P-8A Poseidon will significantly enhance the Bundeswehr's capabilities - whether in anti-submarine warfare and surface maritime targeting, information gathering, surveillance and recon-naissance, or search and rescue missions. Boeing, Lufthansa Technik and ESG are working very closely together to ensure that the Bundeswehr receives the capabilities defined by the military platform that it needs to perform its tasks safely and effectively.
  • NEOS - Network Enabled Operations Support
With NEOS, ESG and IAI enable cross-domain, multi-national operations in all dimensions. NEOS is based on the OPAL solution, which is available and operationally proven within the Israeli Armed Forces. ESG and IAI are further developing this solution into a cross-domain network solution that ideally reflects the capabilities required by the Bundeswehr: NEOS integrates different sensors and effectors from different platforms into an effective and efficient network and significantly increases their operational value.
  • FCAS / FCMS – Future Combat Mission System
The international cooperation project Future Combat Air System (FCAS) is dedicated to the challenges that air combat will pose in the future. The key to success is mission management based on cross-platform mission services which, together with the mission system of the platforms, form a powerful composite mission system. For this purpose, the FCMS industrial consortium with the German companies Hensoldt, Diehl Defence, ESG and Rohde & Schwarz bundles essential core competencies of the national key technologies under one roof. FCMS offers broad and technologically sound national technology know-how for the FCAS/NGWS programme and thus ensures the necessary national ability to contribute and future viability in the field of 6th generation mission systems.
  • GUARDION - the modular multi-sensor-multi-effector drone detection and defence system
GUARDION enables scalable solutions for the safe detection and defence of drones in stationary, mobile or deployable configurations, adapted to the respective individual requirements. GUARDION has proven itself for years in highly demanding scenarios.
  • VisAIRion - laser safety goggles for aircrews
ESG has been commissioned by the German Federal Armed Forces to develop laser safety goggles for military aircraft crews. The VisAIRion laser safety goggles cover the requirements of the military customer and can also be adapted to other user-specific requirements, for example in the area of the federal or state police
  • Tactical UAS
As a consultant, integrator with certification expertise and operator, ESG is the high-performance technology and innovation partner for the deployment of tactical UAS for the military, security agencies and industry. At the ILA, ESG will be showcasing the VECTOR from Quantum Systems and the PENGUIN from Edge Autonomy, modular and scalable solutions for unmanned aerial systems, tailored to customer requirements and mission scenarios such as reconnaissance, surveillance and protection.
  • Data Solutions Platform DSP
For a large number of applications, such as Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) or AI-supported C2 systems, the volumes of data to be processed are growing far faster than the computing power of individual servers. IT systems that ensure the mission success of our customers are therefore increasingly distributed systems. The Data Solutions Platform (DSP) simplifies the development and also the operation of distributed IT systems. It functions similarly to the automated infrastructures of the large public cloud operators, but in contrast can be operated on premises and also com-pletely without an Internet connection, "air gapped". This means that distributed IT systems for armed forces and public security customers are created faster, cheaper and more reliably at ESG.

Key Topics Military Support Centre (Hall 3):

  • Life-cycle and in-service support for helicopter equipment
Within the scope of lifecycle support, ESG offers holistic system support to increase the reliability, availability and serviceability of entire systems or individual components.
  • Maintenance Repair & Overhaul for helicopters
As an approved aviation company, ESG assumes overall responsibility for holistic system support in the area of maintenance.

ESG has been one of the leading German providers of design, integration, operation and in-service support of complex, security-related electronic and IT systems for more than five decades. In Germany and internationally, ESG provides propducts and services for customers from government authorities, the fields of defence and public security and industry. ESG is a certified aviation company for aircraft and aviation equipment for the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces) and an aviation engineering company in line with EASA Parts 21G/21J and EASA Part 145. Independent process and technology consulting is one of ESG's key competencies. Technology transfer between markets is what makes a significant contribution to our customers' added value.
