The topics and projects are extremely varied, so even after 20 years with the company, my daily work is still exciting and varied!
After studying computer science, I joined ESG straight away. I started out as a programmer and then developed into a project manager over time. Apart from my basic military service, I hadn't had much contact with military topics until then. I was quickly integrated into the development team and the helpfulness and collegial spirit of the team quickly ensured that I was able to acquire the necessary knowledge of military applications and the processes within the Bundeswehr and grow into my tasks accordingly.
Even if you are not deeply involved, it is essential to understand the processes and difficulties faced by soldiers on missions in order to develop a useful system for them. Only then can we succeed in designing a solution that is as suitable as possible for the respective user. In my team, we are developing the software for a decision support system for the German Armed Forces. There are also teams within the same department that take care of the hardware and the network connection of the IT systems.
What makes ESG special? The proximity to technology, e.g. on-site computer technology or to radio equipment, is particularly attractive for us. If you are a software developer with an affinity for technology and have no reservations about contact with military topics, you will find a good job here with many opportunities and a high level of security.
