ADLER III for the Lithuanian Artillery – ESG receives NSPA order

With its C2 system, ESG supports the strengthening of NATO partner Lithuania in the area of indirect fire.

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), on behalf of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defence, has entrusted ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH with the supply and integration of the new Command & Control (C2) system for the Lithuanian artillery.
The Lithuanian army is currently expanding its indirect fire capabilities in a targeted manner and is introducing new-generation artillery systems into the Lithuanian armed forces. For the control and monitoring of artillery systems, a modern C2 system capable of interacting with the C2 systems of other NATO partners was sought in order to ensure communication and effective functioning amongst joint forces.
Together with its Lithuanian partner Elsis, ESG is putting the new C2 system in place for the Lithuanian artillery systems based on ADLER III. In the months ahead the Fire Direction Center, Forward Observer, Tactical Air Control Party and the METEO system will be equipped with ADLER III software, robust computers, network components and the necessary power supplies. The ADLER III systems will also get the required interfaces to IP radios and GPS receivers. With the Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) the Lithuanian artillery has the world's most advanced indirect fire system. For the ADLER III systems in the Fire Direction Centers, the communication interface to the PzH2000 will be appropriately modified for the transmission of fire commands, ammunition management and other purposes.
In order for the ADLER III system to deliver an accurate situational picture with ensured interoperability with other C2 and command systems, the ADLER III system will be equipped with the ESG Information Mediation Service (IMS) and the Tactical Situation Service (TSS).
The ESG IMS is a stand-alone service which ensures interoperability between different command systems via international interfaces and special proprietary/national solutions. The service makes it possible for the first time to interconnect multiple nations simultaneously via different standards to achieve a shared, uniform situation view.
This contract once again demonstrates the viability of ESG products and solutions as a specialist for modern, user-oriented and comprehensively interoperable battle management systems.
