ESG's drone defence system kept celebrations on the Day of German Unity safe

The modular drone defence system from ESG and its technology partners – GUARDION – provided valuable support to the Berlin police.

The GUARDION drone defence system provided safe protection against drone threats in Berlin from 1 to 3 October during the official celebrations on the Day of German Unity. GUARDION has been successfully integrated into the security architecture of the Security Authorities (BOS), demonstrating yet again its exceptional performance as a modular, scalable, and highest security requirement in complex scenarios. Thus, the approximately 600,000 guests were able to attend the festivities between the Brandenburg Gate, the Bundestag and the Federal Chancellery at any time well protected and celebrate the day happily.
The GUARDION anti-drone solution developed by ESG and its co-operation partners Rohde & Schwarz and Diehl Defence is based on the tried-and-tested system used to secure major political events such as the G20 summit in Hamburg in 2017, US President Obama's state visit in June 2016 and the G7 summit in Elmau in 2015.

At GUARDION, ESG is responsible for the selection, integration and networking of powerful sensors, the optimised situation overview using the TARANIS® command & control system developed by ESG and the connection to existing IT networks and infrastructure. GUARDION provides scalable solutions for secure detection and defence against drones in stationary, mobile or deployable configurations, adapted to the individual requirements of customers and situations.
In addition to the tried and tested products of the GUARDION cooperation partners, such as RF-based drone detection, bearing detection and jamming by R&S®ARDRONIS from Rohde & Schwarz, further high-performance sensors and effectors from well-known German and European technology companies were used during the festivities in Berlin to meet the specific safety requirements.
All solutions are integrated into the GUARDION command & control system TARANIS®.
